Want a new outfit for Christmas? Come and join in the Swishing event at Deans Club Newnham Street Ely. Just bring four items of good clothing shoes or handbags and exchange them for other equally good items. You can deliver your items from 2pm on the day where they will be recorded for the evening event.

The event opens at 7pm. with a glass of bubbly and some nibbles and the Swishing starts at 8pm.

Local Dancers Step Forward for Charity

Lisa’s Fund has a great event at the Brook Entertainment Centre in Soham on Saturday 9th
November. Sara Ford, in association with Lisa’s Fund, has brought together an array of young dance talent showcasing an amazing range of styles from hip hop to ballet, contemporary to belly dancing.
There will also be some amazing live performances to get you up on your feet.

Sara, a dance teacher herself, said all the acts have been freshly sourced from local studios. Sara commented, ‘I’ve always wanted to bring together the fantastic dance talent we have here in Ely. I knew Lisa and as a family friend I wanted to do something to help raise this huge amount of money Robert is raising for The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, and what a great way to do it. Everyone is giving up their time completely free of charge, this will be an event not to miss.’

Robert Barnes who launched Lisa’s Fund in October 2010 said he is delighted to have Sara on board organising such an amazing event, ‘It’s always good to get young people involved and this event is almost all about young talent.’

Acts include local dance schools such as The Feathers School of Dance, Octagon Studios and Suspects Cru.

The Mick Radford Band (formerly known as Sixty Seconds) are a Cambridge-based covers band who offer high quality musical entertainment for a variety of different social functions, including weddings, birthday parties and the like.

The group is a five-piece guitar band based in Cambridgeshire. We have two vocalists, male and female, who share the role of lead vocals. providing you with a unique and varied evening of entertainment.
