Who needs the seaside or tennis when Aquafest hits Ely? Many thousands hugged the river bank on 7th July to watch Aquafest and join in on the many fundraising stalls.
Robert Barnes founder of Lisa’s fund commented, ‘We were delighted with the amount raised on the day, as always the people of Ely and the surrounding villages were so generous. We had a cake stall, selling slices of cake and cold drinks, a tombola with a difference and the famous PINK WHEELBARROW full of goodies.’
Robert said he would like to thank the army of cake makers as well as the great team of volunteers helping on such a very hot day. A big thank you to The Cutter for supplying the ice needed to keep the drinks cool all day, and an extra special thank you to Pecks of Ely who donated the Pink Wheelbarrow.
The winner of the Pink Wheelbarrow complete with all the goodies was won by Mr Wayman of Bellairs in Sutton. Congratulations!
