Garden Fete raises over £800 21st June 2014

GARDEN FETE A GREAT SUCCESS.
Local resident Ernie Barlow decided to organise a garden fete for Lisa’s fund at his home in Laurel Close Mepal. Not to let anything get in his way on Saturday 15 and with the weather looking a bit overcast it was decided to switch venues to the Village Hall.

“Ernie, a great supporter of Lisa’s Fund, has organised other events in the past and raised many hundreds of pounds doing so, including a birthday party for himself,” said Robert Barnes founder of Lisa’s Fund. “I knew he would not let the weather get in the way, and along with a army of volunteers managed to raise £888.88.”

The day went very well said Robert they had a BBQ, teas and cakes, an assortment of stalls including a book stall, a bottle stall, a cake stall and a bric a brac stall.

The entertainment was provided by organ player Launa Turner and a talented group of young children from Witchford.

A big thank you to them all for helping raise such a huge amount for Lisa’s Fund.
