Members of the Ely Tri Club took part in the Edinborugh marathon festival and raised £638.75 in aid of the Lisa Barnes Memorial Fund/Arthur Rank Hospice, the 5 members of the local Triathlon club all posted great results in what was very hot conditions. A team made up of Ely Tri Club Members and some of their family are competing in the Edinburgh Marathon festival on the 27th May to raise money for Lisa’s Fund in aid of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.
Some of the team are tackling the 13.1 miles half marathon while the rest will be taking on the full 26.2 miles marathon course.
Robert Barnes who launched Lisa’s fund in October 2010 said how excited he was at the prospect of all those who are doing the half marathon and marathon, ”I understand there are eleven or twelve of them all competing for Lisa’s fund, and I am very proud of them all”.
